Language school
J-bay Language school offers all 6 levels of General English teaching from beginning to advanced, as well as preparations for Cambridge Advanced and First Certificate exams. These group classes are kept to a maximum of 6, with no more than a total of 30 students attending the language school at any one time. Thus the teacher to student ratio is excellent, allowing for honest evaluation at all times. Jeffreys Bay Language school also offer private classes and can be customized according to your direct needs
Fun Language school module
At Jeffreys Bay Language School we believe that fun is a vital element to learning, and we ensure that this is an integral part of our module. We have Friday communal classes twice a month which bring a whole festive air into the school. Along the fun theme, our social programme is packed with activities and goes along way to bonding between all present at the language school. As Jeffreys Bay Language school is small, the students have a major say in activities for the week which allows you the opportunity to see or do something you may not otherwise have time for.
Accommodation in J-Bay
Accommodation options fall into 3 brackets – our very own school residence, home stay with local families, and at Island Vibe Backpackers Hostel. J-Bay Language School student residence is in fact a few houses up the road and thus conveniently located for walking to school. It is made up of 3 separate apartments, each with its own kitchen, lounge and bathroom. The apartments have either 2 or 3 bedrooms, each furnished appropriately for the traveling student. A communal BBQ area links the three apartments, and many a night is spent chatting around a fire, perhaps cooking the true South African way.
Our home stay families are carefully chosen, and although not many in quantity, they have very high quality. Most of the families have children and pets and are out door personalities who ensure that the language school student in their care, gets to see and do a lot in and around Jeffreys Bay. All those who have had the privilege to stay with a family, have left their second home with promises of visits in the future.
Island Vibe backpackers hostel is as it suggests, an establishment for young travelers / backpackers. Language School students generally opt for the private rooms here for studying purposes, however thrive in the communal nature and atmosphere of the hostel. It too is in the same road as the school and residence, thus being another convenient accommodation option. The facilities at Island Vibe Backpackers Hostel (bar and restaurant, laundry and trips) are all available to Jeffreys Bay Language school students staying in the residence too.
